TEL AVIV, Israel (UPI) - Jewish terrorists con- fessed to a plot to blow up Islam's holiest shrines in Jerusalem, the al-Aksa and Dome of the Rock mosques, newspapers said Friday. Al-Aksa is on the Temple Mount where the prophet Mohammed is said to have ascended to heaven.

The Dome of the Rock is believed to be on the site of King Solomon's first temple and where Abraham prepared to offer his son Issac as a sacrifice to God. Israeli newspapers said the 25 suspects cancelled their plans after it was clear the bombs could not avoid damaging the nearby Western Wall - Judaism's holiest shrine.
