Transcribed from the clipping

“The Camp David accords concerning the disposition of Israeli-occupied Sinai and the Palestinian areas of the West Bank and Gaza are not the first Arab-Israeli ac… It would have been more prudent for President Carter to pay close attention to the Arab national consensus and to inspire accords that would be consistent with it.”

Context added by this archive

A Palestinian professor of political science at Northwestern, writing in a Michigan daily three weeks after Camp David, and named as Palestinian in the editor’s note. The archive holds very little from 1978 and almost nothing in which a Palestinian academic addresses American readers directly about a treaty signed on their behalf.
