“Only the United States and Israel voted against a resolution introduced by the Arab countries on behalf of the P.L.O… there were six abstentions: Uruguay, Zaire, El Salvador and the Caribbean nations of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, and Grenada.”

Paul Lewis at the United Nations. A hundred and forty of a hundred and fifty-nine countries vote one way and two vote the other, and the headline calls the intifada an Arab revolt, which is the phrase the papers used for 1936.
