60 Arabs Are Slain in Palestine Drive

Shown from the top. The whole column is in the enlargement.
Transcribed from the clipping
“Palestine Government military forces, including airplanes, killed sixty Arab rebels today and wounded many more without suffering any casualties themselves.”
Context added by this archive
Joseph M. Levy, wireless from Jerusalem via Cairo. The sentence carries its own arithmetic: sixty dead on one side, none on the other, stated in the same breath and left there. The nineteen Jews killed at Tiberias four nights earlier are named as a massacre; the sixty are a drive.
