“After more than a year’s delay, the Arab Land Company, a banking organization sponsored jointly by the seven Arab states, will soon begin operations in Palestine in an effort to prevent Arab lands from being bought up by Zionists — the first of its kind.”

Clifton Daniel from Jerusalem. The counter-move to the Jewish National Fund, arriving in 1947, two months before the partition vote and twenty-six years after the land purchases it was formed to stop. The deadline is the story and the paper does not say so.
