“Jews in Palestine have no doubts that victory will be theirs in the Arab-Jewish conflict now raging in the Holy Land.
Harry Weinsaft, a member of the Haganah Jewish Army, told Hartford Zionist District members Monday night that Palestinian Jews mean business; that they intend to hold their borders given them by the United Nations at any cost and that they can make democracy work in Palestine.
He stated that the 250,000 Jews in European displaced camps and the 700,000 Jews in Palestine are ‘sick and tired’ of betrayal, of double dealing and of the charity of the world. Mr.
Weinsaft told the more than 200 local Zionists present that they must stop applauding with their hands and applaud with their hearts those who come to America bringing the message of Palestine Jewry. American Jews must speak to their elected representatives to deal out justice if such a thing as justice still prevails in the world.
He added that Jews here can ‘shake hands’ with their Jewish brothers fighting and dying in Palestine by giving funds. He warned that they must be backed up now for if the Jews do not win out, the days of Jews everywhere are numbered.”
