Speaking of Palestine

Transcribed from the clipping
“HISTORY often repeats itself and we are reminded at this time of the attitude of the nations of the world to the Ethiopian situation when Italy ravaged and raped that little sovereign country. The nations of the world were callous about the whole situation and Haile Selassie dramatically stood up in the League of Nations Conference and warned them that what was happening to Ethiopia would be attempted all over the world. It is not too inconceivable that this is another sign of things to come. Washington Dailies, please copy.”
Context added by this archive
One week after the state was declared, a Black weekly reaches for the precedent its readers knew best: Ethiopia in 1935, and Haile Selassie telling the League of Nations that what was done to his country would be attempted everywhere. It ends by instructing the white papers in the capital to reprint it.
