Transcribed from the clipping

“Some of the 1,000 Arabs and Jews who paraded Saturday through Umm al Fahm, Israel. The marchers were protesting the views of Rabbi Meir Kahane and discrimination against the country’s Arabs.”

Context added by this archive

Kahane had driven to Umm al-Fahm to urge its residents to leave Israel. A thousand people walked through the town against him, Arabs and Jews together, and the Times ran the photograph. Kahane’s party was barred from the next election; the position outlived him.
