Times Square Marchers Protest Killing of Palestinians

Transcribed from the clipping
“‘From the inside, I feel very bad, the kid who got shot, I feel awful,’ said Diana Awawdeh, 10. ‘I felt someone was shooting part of my heart.’”
Context added by this archive
Amy Waldman, with several thousand people south of Times Square in the evening rush. The kid who got shot is Muhammad al-Durrah, 12, whose photocopied image they are holding on posters. Diana Awawdeh is ten years old and from Sunset Park, and hers is the most precise sentence any Palestinian child says anywhere in this archive.
