IN PALESTINE TOWN Six Moslems Taking Part in Arab General Strike Shot in Clash With Police. Wireless to THE NEW YORK TIMES. JERUSALEM, Aug.
23.-Although the police authorities report "all quiet" throughout the country today on the occasion of the Arab general against strike the government's sealed granting of armories to out- lying Jewish colonies, six Arabs were seriously three of whom wounded, , when the police are expected to die. fired on a crowd of more than 1,000 demonstrators at Nablus late this afternoon.
Nablus, where the Moslem women- folk are seldom allowed to leave their homes, witnessed a unique scene in history when more than veiled Mohammedan women marched "Down crying through the streets, with the mandatory! Long live Arab independence!" The women were joined by a throng of men. who attempted to hold a demonstration at the bazaars, but they were blocked by a strong force
