ASK PALESTINE LAND FUND
Zionist Leaders to Raise $125,000 to Buy Sites for Settlers.

Transcribed from the clipping
Delegates representing 200 Zionist and other Jewish groups, at a meeting yesterday under the auspices of the Jewish National Fund Council of Greater New York in the Hotel Pennsylvania, voted to raise $125,000 in the next year to purchase land in Palestine.
Title to the land is to be vested in the Jewish National Fund Council and it will be leased to settlers at nominal rentals. Louis Lipsky, American member of the World Zionist Executive, said it was the duty of all Jewish organizations to support the National Fund campaign.
He pointed out that immigration to Palestine was increasing and that it was essential that land be kept out of the hands of speculators so it would be available to settlers at low cost. Samuel Markewich, former Assistant District Attorney of New York County, was elected president of the council.
Others elected were: Vice presidents, Samuel Fishman, Abraham Tannenbaum, Leib Glantz, Max Hagler, Mrs. Louis Barst and Dr. Harry Levine; secretary, Herman Quittman, and treasurer, David Podolsky.

Date check: No masthead, page date line or page number is present in this clipping — it is a trimmed single-column story only, so the 1934-11-26 date cannot be confirmed from the image. The story's own text says the meeting was held “yesterday.”
