DP's in Germany Can Apply for Palestine

“Munich — (JTA) — Jewish displaced persons in Germany will be able to register for Palestine visas beginning this week, the International Refugee Organization announced in Heidelberg. Registration will be conducted by the Jewish Agency under the IRO’s sponsorship. Information obtained during registration will serve to determine emigration priorities for the DP’s. All displaced Jews who apply will ultimately receive Palestine visas, the announcement said.”

Seven weeks before the declaration, a registration desk opens in Heidelberg and a visa is promised to everyone who applies. The item is about who may enter Palestine and nobody already living there appears in it. Printed the same month as the punitive expeditions against four unnamed villages (CP-1948-064).
