“Arab field guns stationed in the Judean mountains hurled eight 25-pound shells into the Jewish suburb of Givat Shaul (Hill of Saul). This is 1,000 yards from Deir Yassin, which a Jewish striking force occupied yesterday.”

Day one of three. The village appears once, as a way of locating an artillery strike. Occupied. No casualties, and no perpetrator beyond “a Jewish striking force.” The paper sets the same village three ways inside two days — Kastel, Kassel and Kasel.
