A man selling dates on a scale, photographed in Khan Yunis in December 1956, six weeks after the killings there. The caption says life and business continue as usual and that he appears unruffled. The verb for what happened to the city is wrested, and the city is wrested from Egypt, not from anyone who lives in it.
