Poor Arab Villages a Startling Sight in Israel

Transcribed from the clipping
“Over 75,000 Palestinian Israeli citizens live in unrecognized villages… While the Arabs in the new state were made citizens in 1948, they lived under a Military Administration.”
Context added by this archive
Mark Frey, writing from Arab al-Na’im in the Galilee for an Oklahoma paper. It sets Israel’s declaration of independence, promising complete equality of social and political rights, against a village with no recognition. The only clipping in this archive that names the unrecognized villages as a category, and it uses the phrase Palestinian-Israelis to do it.
