“JERUSALEM — Secretary of State Antony Blinken appealed for calm… He arrived days after a Palestinian gunman killed seven people outside a synagogue in an east Jerusalem Jewish settlement and a day after Israeli forces killed 10 Palestinians in a raid in Jenin… National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir ordered the demolition of illegally built Palestinian homes in east Jerusalem in response to the attack, which Palestinians denounced as collective punishment…”
