“JERUSALEM — Israeli aircraft struck targets in the Gaza Strip for a second day on Saturday… The strikes came after days of protests along the perimeter fence and the launching of incendiary balloons… Israel has barred some 18,000 Palestinian laborers from Gaza from entering… ‘As long as these provocations continue, the protests will continue,’ said Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem… Hamas says the protests are a response to Jewish visits to a sensitive Jerusalem holy site…”

Eighteen thousand workers barred from crossing, two weeks before October. Hamas is quoted giving a reason for the protests and the paper does not adopt it.
