“Behind the headlines of Arab-Jewish strife… Arab and Jewish workers go about their daily toil together… Together they voted for a general strike in May, 1946, in the same YMCA room where just a few months before the Anglo-American inquiry commission had heard government officials state that Arabs and Jews cannot get along together… The UN commission is the 19th to visit here since 1921.”

Officials testifying in a room that Arabs and Jews cannot cooperate, and the same room, months later, holding the joint strike vote. It also records the killing of Fausi Darwish, an Arab who advocated Jewish-Arab cooperation, and notes that news of his death was censored.
