“UNITED NATIONS, N. Y., Dec. 28 (AP)—Egypt charged today that Israelis killed about 2,150 Arabs in and around the Gaza Strip after Israel invaded Egypt Oct. 29. Israel denied the charge. The announcement—issued by the Egyptian Mission to the U. N.—quoted Egypt’s director general of information, Abdel Kader Hatem, as saying the Israelis put 750 persons to death at Rafa in the northeast corner of the Sinai Peninsula just below the Gaza Strip. He also charged that ‘Zionists’ gathered 1,400 persons in the Gaza area and executed them without trial. Israeli Delegate Mordecai R. Kidron branded the Egyptian charges ‘flat lies.’ Kidron declared the U. N. had full information on conditions in the Gaza Strip. An investigation in the area was made recently under U. N. auspices. A spokesman at Egypt’s U. N. Mission said the information had come from Arab refugees who fled Israeli authority in the Gaza Strip and reached Egypt. He said there was no definite information as to when the alleged executions occurred.”
