“JERUSALEM, Israel (UPI)– Informed sources today said Israel has drawn up plans to resettle Palestinian refugees from the 1948 Middle East war. About 700,000 Palestinians who fled from what is now Israel fell under Israeli control again in this month’s war. They live in vast, futureless camps in the Gaza Strip and in western Jordan.
The presence of the Palestinians, idle for two decades in their camps, has long been a bar to peace in the Middle East… The sources said plans for the refugees are being drawn up regardless of whatever territorial adjustments are made as a result of Israeli conquest of Arab lands.”
