Former Israeli Defense Minister Ezer Weizman: 'No government in its right mind could possibly want the place. I'd give it back tomorrow if someone would take it.' Dr. Haidar Abed el Shafi, head of the Gaza Red Crescent Society: 'It is an occupation with a definite political program. The Israeli government considers the occupied territories as part of Israeli territory and looks on the local population as foreigners.'
