Arab villages are a dot. Jewish lands are a shaded area. A point marks a position; a polygon marks territory. The Arabs were about nine-tenths of Palestine in 1929 and on this map they hold no ground, because the legend contains no symbol that would let them. The same map prints SAMARIA, YEHUDA and JUDEA as ordinary physical geography, thirty-eight years before 1967. “tribsmen” is the paper’s spelling.
