“English imperialism, the Anglo-Jewish industrial magnates, and religious fakers, both Arab and Jewish, these are the cause of the race riots sweeping Palestine… This group of demonstrators in New York East Side ignore this fact… At right, group of Jewish rabbis in the East Side demonstration—brothers to the religious fakers in Palestine…”

The archive holds six American papers from this fortnight, in six registers: a Mississippi daily, a Texas daily’s map, a Communist photo spread, a Jewish weekly’s front page, a Virginia column of wire datelines, and a Buffalo weekly a week later. Two photographs of Americans demonstrating about Palestine in a New York street, with hand-lettered placards — which this archive holds very little of for this period. The placards name Harry Charles Luke, then acting High Commissioner.
