INCREASED BUILDING IN PALESTINE URGED Spokesmen for 600 Jewish Groups Also Denounce Pro- posed Legislative Council. Jewish of 600 Representatives groups at an all-day meeting at the yesterday backed in- Astor Hotel creased reconstruction activity in Palestine to facilitate the absorp- tion of refugees from Germany and other European countries.

Other resolutions denounced the proposed Palestinian Legislative Council and welcomed the British delegation of Sir Herbert Samuel, Simon Marks and Viscount Bear- sted. Representatives were elected to the National Conference for Pal- estine to be held in Washington this week-end. Speakers included Morris Rothen- Israel Goldstein, Simon berg. Dr. W.

Goldsmith, Max Silverstein, Louis Fabricant, Louis Levine, Samuel Maurice Levin, Dr. Mar- and Dr. Mordecai Soltes. goshes Ress, secretary of the Charles American Palestine Campaign, was elected president
