“To the Editor of The Binghamton Press: The three replies to my letter of Oct. 2, 1945, have unanimously gone to prove that Americans and the world’s Jewry have been propagandized to the bursting point with half-truths by the Zionists. For example, note Dr. M. S. Bloom’s letter of Oct. 13. ‘What is wrong with a Jewish National State in Palestine?

Historically that is what Palestine was——.’ Does Dr. Bloom mention that the Jews held Palestine for less than 500 years, while the Palestinian Arabs have lived and worked there for over 1,200 years? Does he mention the fact that it is the cultural and religious center for the Christians and Moslems of the world as well as for the Jews?

He blithely states that the standard of living has gone up for the Arab since the Zionists entered the scene. Does he mention the fact that it has also gone up in those Arab countries which have not had the imposition of Zionism? At any rate I am pleased with one thing.

The price for a man’s soul has gone up from 30 pieces of gold to an increased standard of living… Lastly, Isidore Friedland put forth some ‘facts.’ He states that ‘the proposed Jewish state will be based on the widest democratic principles offering to all the inhabitants of the land a freedom they have never enjoyed before.’

A clause from a lease of the Jewish National Fund as to the Jewish settlers on Palestinian land reads: ‘The leasee undertakes to execute all works connected with the cultivation of the holding only with Jewish labour.’ As Sir John Simpson states ‘It ceases to be land from which the Arab can go in any advantage either now or at any time in the future.’ Is this freedom Mr.

Friedland? … Let me once more sound my plea that we as Americans insist that our government look into both sides of the question before making any commitments.”
