“JERUSALEM, Nov. 26 (AP)—Police and troops battered into the surrounded Jewish settlement of Shefayim with batons, rifle butts and tear gas today and Jewish casualties mounted to two killed and 30 wounded. Fighting continued.
In the coastal region of Palestine men, women and children tried to storm areas that had been cordoned off by police and military authorities in a search for gangs which on Saturday night attacked two coast guard stations with arms and explosives and wounded 14 officers.
The attacks on the stations were believed to have resulted from interception by the authorities of a ship which had brought 200 Jewish immigrants illegally to the Palestine coast.”

The word Palestinian in an American headline, used for Jews. This archive already held one such use in a community weekly; this one is in display type in a general daily. The two Palestinians of the headline are the two Jewish dead of the first sentence, killed by British police at Shefayim. The deck explains the cause as the illegal entry of immigrants.
