70 Arabs Slain in Palestine

“TEL AVIV, Dec. 9 (U.P.)—British sources and the Jewish Haganah organization said today 70 Arabs were killed in a Haganah-Arab clash in the no man’s land between Jewish Tel Aviv and Arab Jaffa. British said 100 Arabs were wounded… Afternoon newspapers published the report that 70 Arabs were killed. However, tonight for some reason both British and Jewish authorities did their utmost to ‘play down’ the statement of Arab losses.”
