Just What Is the Gaza Strip?

“Who Owns the Gaza Strip? Nobody… The Gaza strip would have been part of a new Arab Palestine state under the plan… Actual ownership will not be decided until a peace treaty is signed, if ever… Before the 1949 armistice, the native Arab population of 80,000 to 90,000 barely kept itself alive through agriculture, with its chief markets Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. These markets were cut off… some 175,000 Arab residents of Palestine migrated to the Gaza strip during the Arab-Israel war…”
