“SHIPPENSBURG — A selection of crayon drawings by Palestinian refugee children, ‘Children’s Testimony at a Time of War,’ are on display this month in the Huber Art Center at Shippensburg State College. The 35 pictures were created by children, ages five to 14, who became refugees as a result of the 1967 Arab-Israeli War. The exhibit originated through the combined efforts of Kamal Boullata, a Palestinian artist living in Washington, D.C., and another Palestinian artist, Vladimir Tamari, who lives in Beirut. Tamari assembled the drawings and shipped them to the United States where Boullata selected the works and supervised the arranging and mounting. The exhibit is on display in the Huber Art Center from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.”

The same exhibition, in the same county, six days after CP-1975-008. That paper printed six of the children’s names and their ages and quoted Neimeh Salem, aged six, on walking all day past the dead. This one names the two adult artists and the opening hours. Nothing was cut from a wire copy here: these are two papers making the same choice differently, and the whole difference is whether a child gets a name.
