Israeli Prison Chief Denies Any Torture Of Arab Prisoners

Transcribed from the clipping
“Aryeh Nir, the Commissioner of Prisons, rejected today as ‘ridiculous’ published charges by a Lebanese farmer that he and his son had been tortured in Israeli jails last year.”
Context added by this archive
The denial is the news and the charge is its object, three years before the archive’s 1980 example of the same construction. The man making the allegation is a Lebanese farmer and is not named in the headline; the commissioner who denies it is named in the first line.
