“It was quite easy for the Israel lobby and our misguided media to mislead the American public into believing that the Palestinians were the victimizers rather than the victims in the recent spate of violence. Where was the media the week before the attacks in Jerusalem and Haifa? Why didn’t the media show the body parts of the Palestinian children who were blown to pieces by an Israeli shell in Gaza?… The media needs to constantly remind its readers and viewers that the Israeli occupation is the root cause of the violence that takes place in Palestine. Is it not odd that the word ‘occupation’ seems to be vanishing from the vernacular of reporters, editors, columnists and anchormen?”
