In Nablus, Strife Dims Dreams and Daily Life
By James Bennet

Transcribed from the clipping
NABLUS, West Bank, Dec. 27 — For Munir Abu Kishek, a boxer, the intifada has meant the end of his hopes of representing Palestinians in the Olympic Games, and the start of a new career selling vegetables from a cart. For Nablus itself, the uprising has meant the slow death of a commercial center that, Palestinians say, once set the standard for this society.
The Israeli Army, which has reoccupied Nablus since June, says that it is here to stop terrorism, and that its measures here have saved Israeli lives.
