“JERUSALEM, May 24. — The Palestine Arab executive has addressed a memorandum to the permanent mandates commission of the League of Nations, protesting against the Zionist policy in Palestine.”

This archive holds the same dispatch in two other papers the same week: the St. Louis Globe-Democrat and the Evening Star both print what the memorandum actually said — that the Arabic language was being ignored, that there were too many British officials, that nobody had consulted the Arab population about a £4,500,000 government loan, and that the country had no elected bodies at all. Here a petition to the League of Nations becomes two sentences and a headline about Arabs being vexed.
