“Although the partition of Palestine by the United Nations general assembly reflects the two-thirds majority of world thought on the troublesome Middle East, there is danger in the violent resistance of the Arab minority that the decision will precipitate serious upheavals in the Moslem world.
Although the Arabs themselves are not of sufficient strength nor in possession of adequate resources to threaten world conflict, the tie of Islam, the Moslem religion, makes their resistance to the Palestine solution of consequence to the hundreds of millions of Moslems in the Middle East and Asia. A new complicating factor will be inserted into the Indian situation.
Hoping to profit by any and all confusion and dissidence, Soviet forces drawn up along the Suez lifeline and across the Siberian frontiers cannot but be pleased by the chaos which threatens. Demonstrations in Palestine, Italy and France can serve to benefit the Communists who thrive upon disgruntled, anarchic mass movements.
It becomes the responsibility of the Jews in Palestine to liberalize their own policies of employment, religious tolerance and social practice. Political autonomy and economic prosperity can continue for any state only when that state is neighborly and eager to improve relationships with other sovereign powers.
Today’s interdependent world cannot condone such continued outbreaks as those attendant to the Palestine partition. Here is an example which calls for the embodiment of the U.N. armed forces. Peace and order kept in Palestine can cut the fuse on a dangerous powder keg.”

Unsigned, so this is the paper arguing in its own voice four days after the vote. The Arab majority of Palestine is called the Arab minority in the first sentence.
