1, 1962 Approve Israel's Policy of Action at UN Assembly Will Not Discourage Attempt at Direct Mid-East Negotiations JERUSALEM - (JTA) - The Cabinet has approved the Foreign Ministry's recommendations about the stand to be adopted by the Is- rael delegation at the forthcoming United Nations General Assembly on various items on the agenda.

The recommendations presented by Foreign Minister Golda Meir followed deligerations held during the past week at the Foreign Min- istry with the participation of Am- bassador Comay, Michael chair- man of the Israel UN delegation. It is understood that Israel will not discourage any possible move on the part of some nations to call direct negotia- for Israel-Arab tions.

Such a move was initiated last year by a number of African and Latin American countries and received support of 34 states. It failed, however, to get the neces- sary majority to ensure it
