“ALGIERS (AP) — Palestine guerrilla leader Yassir Arafat said Saturday that the Israelis have killed 6,000 Palestinians ‘by torture, massacre or napalm’ since the 1967 war. Another 16,000 including 1,700 women, have been imprisoned, he said.
Arafat was addressing the opening session of the first International Congress of Committees of Support for Palestine. It was attended by delegates from 10 countries including the United States and by representatives of African liberation movements and the Black Panthers. Arafat came to Algiers after attending the Arab summit conference in Rabat, Morocco.
After addressing the Algiers meeting, he continued on to Tunis.”
