“This is in response to the Jan. 12, 1969, advertisement, ‘Justice and Truth Is the Issue.’ Yes, justice and truth is the issue, but from BOTH sides. Israel was NOT created by the free vote of the United Nations in 1948. There is evidence that President Truman pressured certain countries, such as Cuba and Panama, who were against Israel.
Those countries, wanting certain favors of the United States at the time, yielded and abstained from voting. How can this be defined as ‘free’?… Many people do not realize that Palestine is also the traditional homeland of the Arab ancestors, not just the Jews. What right do the Jews have to deny them their homeland in Palestine?
Genocide never was the intention of any Arab government, and there are official denials to prove it. It’s the fanatics who talk about ‘genocide’ and the ‘extermination’ of Israel. But the Arabs are not all fanatics. There are many more who are willing to sit down and talk it out. Yes, the Jews need a homeland and a place to live happily.
But why at Arab expense and the price of Arab suffering? The Moslem Arab and the Christian Arab have deep religious memories as well as the Jews.”
