Transcribed from the clipping

“Attacking a U.N. resolution which equates Zionism with racism as ‘cynical and vicious,’ an Israeli minister to the United Nations said here Sunday his country will not accept ‘the indefensible borders of 1967.’ ‘Our defense is our own responsibility, which is a major reason why, even though for real peace we are ready to compromise our territory, we will not be pushed back to the indefensible borders of 1967,’ Mordechai Lador told a Zionist Organization of America dinner at Agudath Sholom Synagogue. Mr. Lador serves as ambassador to the permanent mission of Israel at the United Nations. In that capacity, he is a key aide to Israeli U.N. Ambassador Chaim Herzog… The Israeli official warned his audience that once again the world has turned against the Jewish people and is attacking the Hebrew state ‘for no other reason than because it is small and because it is Jewish.’”

Context added by this archive

How the resolution actually reached American towns: a synagogue banquet in Stamford, an award for a man who supported a technical high school in Israel, and a staff reporter taking notes. The story beside it is a city representative and a city engineer arguing about basement flooding on Sleepy Hollow Lane.
