Hassan Abdel Halim, 36, of the East Jerusalem paper Al-Fajr, disappeared while researching fraudulent land purchases in the West Bank. His decapitated body was found by Arab shepherds at Beit Horon. His brother Mohammed said there were burns, missing teeth and missing fingernails. Israeli police retracted a statement that he had been killed making a bomb. Palestinian reporters noted he was partially blind. Ziad Abu Ziad of the Arab Journalists Association: "What we are asking the police is to study whether Hassan’s death was not stage-managed."
