“Hosni Abu Sido, was one of a group of teen-agers who threw gasoline-filled bottles at a patrol yesterday morning several hours after a curfew was lifted and residents were allowed out of their homes… he tried to stab a guard with a homemade knife while he and other inmates in Gaza City’s prison were taken out on a daily walk, the army said… All 650,000 residents of the Gaza Strip were under curfew yesterday to prevent violence marking the first anniversary of the upris—… lence in memory of the Palestinians killed in the uprising, which began Dec.
8, 1987… Lebanon requested an urgent meeting of the U.N. Security Council to debate the attack, which drew sharp condemnation from the United States and Britain.” The line across the top of the page reads “BATTLE FOR PROMISED LAND 11A.”
