“JALAZOUN, West Bank — An army truck carrying Israeli soldiers plunged off an embankment, overturned and burned Wednesday near this Palestinian refugee camp after a firebomb was thrown through its windshield. The driver and 12 soldiers were hurt in the attack… A firetruck from Ramallah was the first to arrive at the scene after it was called by Palestinians, and its crew extinguished the flames… At the neighboring Jewish settlement of Itamar, two residents were arrested after they were accused of beating a disabled Palestinian after their car was stoned. The stone-throwers fled, leaving behind the disabled man, who complained that he was beaten, and later identified the two residents to Israeli police.… Israeli Channel 2 television reported on Wednesday that Defense Minister Yitzhak Mordechai had approved plans to build thousands of apartments in Jewish settlements in the West Bank.”

One sentence, in the middle of a story about a burned army truck: the stone-throwers ran and left behind the one man who could not, and he is the only witness who could identify anybody. He is not named. The same page carries an Associated Press story about a joint Israeli-Palestinian Sesame Street, in which two puppets shout the names of hummus and falafel at each other.
