“Once again, the apartheid state of Israel has launched a genocide wave against unarmed civilian Palestinians. The last existing apartheid state is murdering hundreds of children, women and men, and no one cares. This is a result of the blank check that was given Israel by the U.S. government.”

Bare, in the paper's own headline, during Cast Lead. The clipping arrived captioned 21 January, but the Argus Leader comment column answering it is captioned 3 January and carries comments posted “8:47 p.m. Thursday” referring to rockets fired since the truce lapsed “several days ago.” The only Thursday that fits is 1 January 2009, so the letter ran on or just before it. Dated from that reasoning and marked an estimate.
