“A cease-fire between Israel and the Islamic Jihad militant group held on Monday after three days of fighting that killed 44 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, including 15 children… No Israelis were killed. The Israeli military said its Iron Dome air defense system intercepted the great majority of rockets fired…”

The line under the headline sets the two halves of the sentence in two different grammars. The Palestinians died. The Iron Dome shielded. One clause has an agent and the other does not, and they are separated by a comma.
