“The two officers and seven enlisted men are accused of shooting the Arabs at the village of Kfar Kassem when the villagers—men, women and children—were found outside their homes in violation of an all-night curfew. The incident occurred immediately after Israeli launched its Sinai campaign but was not disclosed officially until Dec. 12.
Officials condemned the action in parliament.”

The suppression stated plainly in the paper’s own words: the killings happened as the Sinai campaign began and were not disclosed officially until 12 December. “Israeli” for “Israel” is the paper’s.
