Ibrahim Ibrahim to Wed Miss Barbara Heleen
Special to The New York Times.

Transcribed from the clipping
MIDDLEBORO, Mass., Aug. 11—Mrs. J. Edward Wiksten has announced the engagement of her daughter, Miss Barbara Donne Heleen, to Ibrahim Ibrahim, an artist. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hanna Ibrahim of Reiny, Nazareth, Israel. The couple will be married in Jerusalem next month. Miss Heleen, daughter also of the late William A. Heleen, received an A.
B. degree in theatre arts last year from Brandeis University. She lives in Jerusalem. Her fiancé studied at the Bezalel Art School in Jerusalem under an Israeli Government scholarship and won an award at the first Biennale of Young Painters at the Museum of Modern Art in Haifa last year.
How this transcription was made
Transcribed from the slide scan by a reader working off magnified crops, not by optical character recognition. The newspaper is printed on the clipping in the credit line “Special to The New York Times.” above the dateline. The day and month come from the printed dateline, “MIDDLEBORO, Mass., Aug. 11”; the YEAR comes from the hand-typed slide label and is not confirmed by anything on the page. The item is a society engagement announcement, not a news report, and it is held in this archive because of the bridegroom: Ibrahim Ibrahim, an artist, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hanna Ibrahim of Reiny, Nazareth. The page itself does not state his nationality or ethnicity; see the record’s queries for what it does and does not establish.

This record is part of Covering Palestine, an archive of American newspaper clippings about Palestinians, 1724 to 2023. Researched and assembled by Maria Robles.
The clipping belongs to the newspaper that printed it, or to the news agency that supplied the copy. It is reproduced here for research, criticism and commentary. A city here is where the newspaper was published, not where the story came from, and on most records it was taken from the masthead.
Something wrong here, or something you know about this clipping? The archive is still being built and corrections are wanted: maria@rozumstudio.com, quoting CP-1961-014.
