The paper’s own introduction: “Americans generally have read and heard more about the Israeli point of view than about that of the Palestinians. Supporters of the Palestinians have contended that their side of the story has not been adequately told.
In answer to this, The World-Herald sought out the writer, acting director of the Palestine Information Office in Washington, D.C., who provided this commentary.” And then the writer: “In the United States, very little is known about the Palestinian people.
The American media has either ignored them or reduced them to distorted and stereotyped images of violent and destructive terrorists. Thus, the American public has little knowledge about the historical tragedy of the Palestinians, their persecution and exile, their present dispersion and suffering.
Of all the nations of the Middle East, the Palestinians, approximately four million, are stateless and homeless. While every people enjoy security, freedom, and national rights in their own state, the Palestinians remain in ‘refugee camps,’ alienated and dispossessed, a whole nation amputated and scattered in different states and continents.”

The same newspaper Sara Pahl writes to in 2018 asking why it carries no coverage. Forty years earlier it went looking for a Palestinian to write for it, printed him at the top of the page with a map, and ran his office address in the byline. The page is dated Oct. 22, 1978, 17-B.
