“during my three months’ travels in Palestine, fellaheen and effendis, peasants and landowners. I have had long conversations with members of the leading families, with educated Arabs, not only in Palestine, but in Damascus and in Beirut.” And: “I have never found a single Arab, Moslem or Christian, who looks with the deepest sympathy upon the Zionist movement.”

Three months of reporting, and the correspondent lists the society she moved through: peasants, landowners, leading families, educated Arabs, Muslim and Christian. The unanimity is the finding. So is the fact that somebody went and asked.
