WASHINGTON, Nov. 29 — A suspicious fire did major damage to the national headquarters of the Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee tonight, less than two months after the committee’s West Coast director was killed in a bombing, fire officials said.

A Fire Department spokesman, Ray Alfred, said much of the front of the building, in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, was destroyed in the blaze. No injuries were reported. James J. Zogby, the committee’s former director, said, “This seems to fit a pattern of activities that have been designed to harass, intimidate and spread fear.” On Oct.

11, the committee’s West Coast director, Alex Odeh, was killed by a bomb when he opened the door to his office in Santa Ana, Calif.
