Israeli raids, riots leave 20 wounded

At least 244 Palestinians and three Israelis have died in the anti-Israel violence… Palestinians and United Nations relief officials said soldiers commandeered one ambulance attempting to enter Jabalia refugee camp under cover, while Israeli forces stopped another ambulance and began beating a 19-year-old Jabalia man who had been shot in the thigh.
According to a U.N. report, the Palestinian was detained at army headquarters in Jabalia for an hour before U.N. officials intervened and took him to a hospital. An army spokesman said soldiers detained the 19-year-old for questioning and then took him for treatment. He denied that the Palestinian was beaten.
