Body of Palestinian man found in W. Bank village

Transcribed from the clipping
JERUSALEM — The body of a Palestinian man was found today in a West Bank village raided by the army, raising to seven the number of Arabs killed by Israeli security the previous day. It was one of the bloodiest days of the 21-month Palestinian uprising against Israeli rule in the occupied Gaza Strip and West Bank.
How this transcription was made
Read from the scan by a machine looking at the image of the page, not by optical character recognition and not by a person. The clipping carries no masthead or date line, so its date and newspaper rest on the record it arrived with, not on anything visible in the scan.
Context added by this archive
Date check: No masthead and no page date line — the clipping is trimmed to a two-line headline and two paragraphs, nothing else. Neither “Fort Worth Star Telegram” nor 1989-09-11 appears anywhere on the scan, so neither could be verified.
The one internal check available is the phrase “21-month Palestinian uprising”: the intifada began in December 1987, which puts this in September 1989 and is consistent with `date`.

This record is part of Covering Palestine, an archive of American newspaper clippings about Palestinians, 1724 to 2023. Researched and assembled by Maria Robles.
The clipping belongs to the newspaper that printed it, or to the news agency that supplied the copy. It is reproduced here for research, criticism and commentary. A city here is where the newspaper was published, not where the story came from, and on most records it was taken from the masthead.
